Volvo: Brakes, brake pads and rotors, brake pads

Question
Wife owns a '94 850.  At 175,000 miles dealer recently replaced front brake pads AND ROTORS!  Maybe it needed them.  Anyway done now at about $600.

Now they tell me I need front brake pads and rotors at 120,0000 miles for my '98 S70!

Not knowledgable, pads I understand but I thought rotors only needed to be replaced if they were warped.

Do Volvos have a history of needing rotors changed?  Any way I can be satisified or must I simply take their word for it.

Thanks

Answer
Harris,
Volvo does have a history of going through rotors. Old rotors may leave you with a vibration or squealing. Most times I find there is a worn spot leaving a groove on the outer edge. Measuring the rotors most often shows they are very near the min spec.
