Volvo: 1985 Volvo 760 Turbo, volvo 760, number 0

Question
Hello,
I'm having problems with my 1985 760 Turbo.  It all started about a month ago.  I went out in the morning, started the car, scrapped the snow, and went inside to grab a cup of coffee.  When I came back out the car had quit running.  I restarted and it died. It did this 3 or 4 times. Wouldn't start after that it would just crank.  I had it towed to the repair shop and they replaced some sort of ignition module.  They cannot get the car to run smoothly though. It seems to idle very rough and is very hesitate when starting out at low speed.  Seems to run pretty decent at around 30 to 40 mph. They have checked for vaccumn leaks and have not found anything. Any help you can provide would be most appreciated.
Thanks, Dave.

Answer
Hello David! Have the repair shop recheck the module they just replaced. I have seen aftermarket modules cause that problem. It may not be the correct spec for the car. Make sure it is replaced with a Bosch module. Volvo part number 3501921 or bosch number 0 227 100 124. Start there and let me know what happens. Talk to you soon!
