Volvo: Volvo S70/AWD 1999, volvo s70, rotors

Question
Driving on the highway and reach 50 mph, hear a skip/hesitation with the car. Always happens between 50-55 mph mark.  Sometimes catch it between 65-70 mph too.  Just had a 75,000 service on the car and took a tech out on the road to test it, and it didn't happen of course with the tech in the car. This has been going on for a while and no one can seem to pinpoint it.  Should I be worried about any damage being done to the engine or trans?
Also was told that the rotors are under spec.  What does that mean and can I get away with not replacing the rotors, just the pads?

Thanks for your help!

Answer
Hello Diane! If you are having an ongoing problem, it is best to have it checked out by another Volvo technician. I would not let it go for too much longer. Is the hesitation in the drivetrain, steering, or engine? Give me more detailed info on the problem so I can help you better. If the rotors are below spec, you need to replace them ASAP. It can be very dangerous to leave them alone! Talk to you soon!
