Question
QUESTION: if i am stopped at a red light and an emergency vehicle comes behind, do i run the red light or wait??  i ask because i got honked at numerous times today by a fire truck for this reason.  i thought i still had to obey the law.  what do i do????

ANSWER: when stopped at a red light just stay put and let the fire truck go around.  hitting the horn at an intersection is the normal practice by fire trucks.  they probably were not honking at you.

QUESTION: if the fire truck is unable to go around, do i still stay put?  this is what i did and after about 1 minute they started honking.

Answer
Use commen sense at this point.  usually it may be a hazard to pull to the side if there is traffic still approaching but if it can be done safely then you may want to pull over.  the bottom line is to be safe no matter what course of action you take.
