Suzuki: Suzuki Vitara 1993 1.6 Idle Automatic, suzuki vitara, great car

Hi. Our Estate wagon has been a great car but we have a problem with the idle and revs whilst driving. After about 10 minutes and engine is at normal running temp, the engine when in placed in neutral or park the revs go up to 2000 then drop to 1000 then repeat about every 2 seconds. Then whilst driving with foot off accelerator the engine will do the same. Is this the wax pellet and how is it fixed? Please help as no one around here seems to have an idea

It is the idle stabilizer system, and is usually a bad adjustment of the TPS, or perhaps a defective TPS.
I have not had a Suzuki with this system for over ten years, and have no literature regarding this.
Get a FACTORY manual.  It is in there, along with the procedure for measurements, and set up.
I am a carbureted Samurai guy, and since I sold my '89 sidekick in 95, have had nothing newer than an '88 Samurai.
