BMW Repair: 2002 BMW 325i right rear window, 2002 bmw 325i, bmw 325i

Question
Good morning Evan,
I was just reading your answer to the person with the E46 U.S. sedan. Would my car be any different? Is it worth trying or just pay the parts and labor (around $250 I suspect). Also, my air bag light is on. I seem to be having many problems for a 2002. I have already relpace brakes and rotors twice and only have 75K on the odometer. It might be time to shop for a new car. What do you think?

Answer
Mark, sounds like you got a good one actually. Brakes are normal to replace often (20-30K miles) depending on what kind of driving you do and how heavy your foot is. As your car gets older more components will wear out and need replacement. That is just how all mechanical things work. Airbag lights are usually seat buckle tensioners, slip rings, or seat mat sensors (usually less than $500.) Your rear window should be the same as long as it is a sedan and not a convertible. I cant say if doing the work yourself is worth it for you or not because I don't know how well you are with you head and hands in the mechanical realm or how much your time is worth. I always ask people, "Do you have more money than time or more time than money." Anyways get that airbag light read out in a diagnostic report so you at least know what it is and can decide to repair immediately or later. And thank you for reading other posts before asking a question. I can't tell you how many duplicate questions I answer for people.
