Suzuki: 1998 Suzuki Esteem, suzuki esteem, brake fluid

Question
Took 1998 Suzuki Esteem in for Brakes. They told me I needed new rotors and new axels. I was surprised by needing axels, as my car never shook, not at high speeds either.  It never leaked anything. Know this as it is Parked in the Garage and never any spots on floor (except water overflow from A/C).  Got it back and it was leaking what looked like Brake Fluid.  Took it back in and they said the wrong Axel was put in.  It is now in being repaired, again!  I drove it for 4 days with the wrong axel.  Could this wrong axel have caused any new damage to other parts of the car? To the transmission?

Answer
It was probably leaking where the axle goes into the trans, and if there is now no trans noise, or unusual functioning, it's probably ok.  The trans holds many pints of fluid, and unless there was a puddle the size of the car, there's probably no reason to be concerned.  It's probable the axles were replaced because the axle boots were broken.
