Suzuki: 93 samurai, ohmmeter, ecu

Question
just bought a 93 sami and have some problems to work out. first it started fine but ran really rich and had very little power when driving. i thought it was the ECU but was told by a mechanic that i needed a new injector. got one and put it in today and now it will only start with the timing very advanced. even then it will only hold idle for a minute. any help would be greatly appreciated as i am in the virgin islands and a mechainc is hard to come by.
thanks  Jason

Answer
Get a service manual.  If you have data and understand how the injection works, then you will have more than a fair idea of what may be at fault.
I would suspect and check the temp sender for the injection first.  All you need is an ohmmeter, and the spec and know what the temp is.
I have only carbureted Samurai vehicles and don't have the later manual.
