Tips on Buying Cars: Do I have a lemon?, volvo dealer, mike lemon

Question
I bought a 1987 Volvo GLE with only 65,000 miles on it. Carfax said they are original. The car ran fine the first 2 days I owned it. After that, I had trouble starting it in the morning and the transmission started making a weird noise. I've taken it to the dealer for service about 5 times and they cannot find the problem. I don't know if they are sincerely trying to fix it or just giving me lip service. The first time I brought the car in, they tried to fix it for free but I have paid each subsequent time.

Answer
Hi Mike
Lemon law only apply to brand new vehicles, to bad becauce it looks like your getting the run around.

If its the same problem you had when you first took vehicle back I dont understand why they would charge you for same problem after that, my guess is you did not buy from a Volvo dealer but from some small car lot, I wish there was a way but there is not, the only thing you can do is file a complaint with BBB that way it will be on record againt the dealership.

I know you ran a carfax but am sure you did not have an independent inspection for a few bucks. I dont know how much you paid ? maybe there is a way to trade vehicle, if you want to persue further contact me through my website   http://www.usedcartips.org/  and also provide your zip code
