Tips on Buying Cars: Car purchase, mercedes bmw, independent check

Thanks for taking my question.  I am looking at both new and used cars for the first time (have always bought new) so I'm interested in your thought on buying used?  Secondly, how do you feel about leasing vs buying? I've never even considered a lease and I understand the basic differences but curious to get your thoughts on whether you'd recommend it as a general rule.  Last question.. for sedans between $35-45k what would be your recommendation.. Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, something domestic, etc...

Sorry for the delay in responding to your question. I've been much busier than usual lately. Used is fine with a clean CarFax, and either Certified Pre-Owned, or an independent check by your mechanic, and obviously, the right price (kbb.com; edmunds.com; nada.com). Leasing can be great. I currently have both a leased vehicle and a financed vehicle. BMW for sure! Good luck!
