Tips on Buying Cars: purchasing a car from the US and bringing to Canada., subaru wrx, purchasing a car

The 2012 Subaru WRX is 32 grand in Canada, yet 25 grand in US. I'd prefer to buy it from us and just get it imported or drive it over the border. If I did drove it over the border what precautions would I take? Would a day permit work or would I be able to register it in Canada and bring the plates over and slap it on the Subaru and get my friend to drive my old car back over the border? Also why is there a price difference that huge between Canada and USA? Would the warranty carry over with the vehicle as well?

Prices in Canada are much higher, one reason is the tax factor,also some Mfg's will not honor warranty's once a vehicle is exported, if this was a simple process rest assured most Canadians would simply drive across to purchase.
