Tips on Buying Cars: selling back car, toyota corolla, bkb

Question
My Toyota Corolla has been recalled twice because of the faulty accelerator. Even before the first recall came out, I told my husband that it didn't want to stop once and it scared me.Consequently, I stopped driving the car and started using my husband's spare jeep. It is an older car(Liberty 2004). Well, then the recall came out and my husband and I took the car to the dealer and asked if we could do some kind of trade in. It is a 2009 and we purchased it in 2008 and has 10460 miles on it. Well, they wanted to take it as being valued $11k and I had already checked on BKB and it is in excellent condition and trade in value states $12,450. What is wrong with these people? I still am afraid to drive the car even after the second recall and car being serviced. Is there anything I can do? I live in Brownsville,Tx 78526. Any advice will help.

Answer
Hi Esther,,, I want to be on your side of the fence, but were dealing with numbers here that mean nothing to me unless I know what the trade in value was against ?

For you to understand how a trade in works please read this link on my website   http://www.usedcartips.org/TRDE.html
