Tips on Buying Cars: follow up question to 2002 nissan altima, nissan altima, independent mechanic

Question
Thank you so much!
We took the car to a mechanic who diagnosed the problem and then to the dealership who fixed everything for free, and gave us the car back to take to the independent mechanic on Monday.
My question is: do you think it's worth it to get the car? The first owner of the car took care of all the recalls in a timely manner, but I've been reading horror stories about the engine (I know you said not to look at the internet...). Again, the car has 49,000ish miles on it. What do you think about it? Is it worth it? Is it a good car that will last me for a while?

Answer
Kate , STOP, procrastination,,, LOL,,,The dealer seem to play ball in a fair manner so far,and if your mechanic runs the compression and diagnostic test with 100% clean bill of health you got yourself an excellent vehicle,,, however you having paid fair value is a new ball game...Sorry I can't answer that as I don't know the model or your location,,, if you want, is there a link to dealership where I can view this vehicle ?
