Question
I paid for the down payment on my son's car in the amount of 1,500.00 on 8/27/09. He is unable to make the payments. My name is not on the contract. Is there any leagle way I can get my money back?

Thank You

Answer
Janet,

Thanks for your question.  Unfortunatly, in your situation, you are liable for the contract, since you signed the papers, and put it in your name.  The dealership is not required, and likely won't let you back out of the contract.

You can try calling the general manager at the dealership and pleading your case, but more than likely, they won't do anything, and aren't required to by law.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Thanks - JB
