Tips on Buying Cars: My lease, ford lariet, great shape

Question
Hi,
I am presently leasing a 2006 ford lariet f-150 super crew.
I should be turning it in on the 17th of March 2009. My miledge will be right at or under what i was allowed. The truck is in great shape with only a couple small dings here and there.
I was told that the truck will be worth 24K upon return. My question is, seeing how the auto makers are suffering with trying to unload their inventory of large gas guzzlers. What should I offer them to buy the truck? I don't really want to keep paying for all the gas but I don't want to pass up a great deal if I can get one either.
Should I walk away from it or try to keep it?
thanks for your input

Answer
Chris,

You can really do either.  Don't think that just because the manufactures are struggling to sell big trucks that you will get more for yours.  Those struggles also make yours worth less as well.  I would try and see what they say, but more than likely it will be in your best interest to stay in yours until you can turn it in.

Hope this helps.

Thanks - jb
