Tips on Buying Cars: buying a rental, toyota highlander, milege

Question
I am going to be buying a used Toyota Highlander for my 19 year old daughter to take up to college. I am considering 2-3 year old cars, most seem to be coming off lease. However, I have also seen some 2007 models with low milege (under 15000 miles) that were formerly rental vehicles. What is your opinion of buying a rental car?

Answer
Hi JEFF,
Nice car for a 19 year old!!!!!!! Rentals are maintained pretty well, you can also purchase extended warranties from them. If you do go this route, get a carfax, and see if they will let you take to your mechanic for checking out. If there is a carmax in your area, i would seriously check their inventory. On top of a 125 point inspection, they give an unconditional 5 day return policy, no one else comes even close...good luck, and let me know if you ahve any other questions.
