Tires: tire speed rating/ tire wear, tire speed rating, toyota highlander

Question
08 Toyota highlander limited, OE 245-55-19. The selection in this size is very limited, I have had an automotive expert do some technical calculations and has determined that it would be ok to switch to 255-50-19 which allows much better selection. My choice is Michelin Latitude HP. My question; if I choose  V speed  rating over H, will that affect the tread life of the tire

Answer
Steve,

On every tire sold in the US, there is a UTQG rating for Treadwear, Traction, and Speed capability (also referred to a "temperature", but this is poorly named).

According to Tire Rack, both the H rated version and the V rated version of the Michelin Latitude HP have the same UTQG ratings, so the best information available says there should not be a difference in treadwear.
