Tires: car shakeing, cv joints, mercury tracer

Question
I have a mercury tracer it starts to shake at acceleration after getting to about 45 the vibrations stat to reduce I feel the shakeing on the driver side i have changed the tires on the car and that is when the problem started i was told that it was a bent rim so i got a new one yet the vibrations continue i have looked in repair manuals and it suggest that it may be the stuts/shock or the mount do you know a way to check what is wrong or any ideas what it could be
most of the time it can be felt mainly in the front not the back seat

Answer
Jaime,

The way to tell if it's the tires is to change the positions of the tires.  Swapping the tires front to back ought to change where you feel it - from the steering wheel to the seat.

However, your description leads me to believe that the problem might be CV joints.  Tire related vibration generally occur in the 50 to 70 mph range.

At any rate, it would be best to take the vehicle back where you purchased the tires, because the coincidence is just too strong.

Hope this helps.
