Used Cars: repairs on car in the first 30 days of purchase, jeep cherokee, dealer ship

Question
I just bought a Jeep Cherokee from a used car dealer ship. I bought it through the bank with no warranty. It has not been 30 days yet and all the springs in the back broke!! I had to get it towed and it is 500-550 dollars for the repair. Is he responsible for this by law? It will be over 30 days on Monday. Thanks.

Unless he sold you the car with a 30 day warranty on it then the dealer's liability ended at the curb the day you bought the car. At least it did in the state of Oregon, and I don't know of any states where the law would require the dealer to be on the hook for 30 days. A law or rule like that would create a huge amount of potential liability for the dealer and would make it impossible for the dealer to run his business. I am sorry.
