Used Cars: 88 honda prelude, honda prelude, cv joints

Question
Hi I am interested in purchasing this vehicle, I havent yet took a look at it but i got the appointment to do so. This is the details I have got about these vehicles:

88 honda prelude 2.0si
2.0l, 4cylnder
automatic, easy on gas
211,000 kms
no accidents

I had a 92 honda accord ex before this but it got totalled and it was pretty reliable for the time i had it, the car was 295 kms before it went to the junk yard.

What do you think about this prelude? Its 4years older than the accord I had, I just dont want any major problems down the road. How much life do you think this vehicle has left? What should I look for when buying this car? thanx

Answer
I think this car still has a lot of life left, especially if you can be positive that it has been maintenanced like it should have been.  I would just try and find out all you can about it, and pay special attention to the timing belt/water pump.  If it has been well taken care of, no wrecks, and checks out well by a mechanic, I would feel pretty confident with the car.  Make sure all the fluids look like they should, at the levels they should be at, try the transmission driving normal, and then driving moderate, and check the cv joints by turning real tight circles at low speeds in a parking lot, both directions.  I would really recommend having a mechanic check it over real good, they know what to look for, and where to look.
