Trucking: Starting My Own Business, list of trucking companies, starting my own business

Question
I live in East Texas and i am thinking of buying a 1-ton truck and 40ft. gooseneck and leasing to someone. I have 6 years over the road as a company driver in a 18 wheeler. Is there any information or advice you can give about who to lease to questions to ask and tips to keep me from going BROKE!!!!

                  Any info. will be helpful.

Hi Chris,  I am not able to suggest any companies that operate "hot shot" equipment. You may find one by using the internet. Try etrucking.com for a list of trucking companies. Some questions to consider: Can the company keep your truck busy? Will they furnish any needed permits?
Fuel Permits? Rate of pay ? Percentage or Mileage ?
Fuel surcharge? .  Need to set minimum rate for yourself:
Shorter the run the more money per mile, with a short min.
of say $100.00   Keep tract of all your related expenses.
