Truck Repair: cummins isx check engine code, cummins isx, cummings place

my husband had trouble cranking our 2000 freightliner do to 2 bad batteries. we replaced the batteries. the engine turns but will not crank. my husband ran the diagnostics and it came up with 3-8-2. unfortunately we do not have a list of codes like we do with outr detriot 60 series and i have the power spec  program but no cables. the nearest cummings place is about hour and half away and they tell us bring truck in and they will try to fit it in to run dianostics but we may have to wait 3 days . but we can not get the truck there unless we tow it.

I dont have a 382 but do have a 482 for low fuel pressure.If the problem happened instantly I would check into a gear pump,if it happened over a period of time and ran fine with no problems it might just be the pressure sensor or just air in the fuel pump.If it spins over fast enough give it a shot of either & see if it will run if it does not have an electric priming pump on it.
