Truck Repair: Ford, ford f 150, clutch disk

I wrote about a 1981 ford f 150 6 cylinder that starts but doesnt move forward or  backwards if the clutch was installed improperly or their is a problem with the inner transmission is there a way to check without going to a mechanic.

A manual transmission usually will loose a gear or two problem rather than no gear at all.The clutch does have a certain way it goes in.If it is not install correctly then it might be going into gear & not putting enough clamp force between the clutch disk & pressure plate.
