Vintage Cars: 1982 mercedes, brake warning light, light indicator

Question
Hi. Hope this is an easy question for you. I have a 1982 300d turbo deisel. I don't have the owners manual. there are three warning lights on the lower left area of the dash.  One is for BRAKE, one is a BATTERY..and the one on the right is an amber light with 2 funny circles in it. It is flickering, and I am not sure what it means! Oil press? Alternator? Heat?

thanks for any ideas.

what a great site!!

Answer
Assuming you are not looking at your glow light indicator , it is your brake warning light.  YOu need front disc pads replaced.  There is a sensor that basically shorts out when it touches the disc and causes the light to come on.
Now then , MB does not recommend turning the discs. They are econimical to replace should they not meet thickness parameters.  If rotors need repalced then it is also a good time to do repack bearings.
Do you have a service history?
the 82 turbo is a fine car, I have an 84 ( among others) they live forever with proper care.
