Torque Specifications for a GMC Truck

GMC manufactures lightweight, middleweight and heavy-duty trucks. Some models available include the Sierra, Denali and Canyon. Many of the models come in a variety of trim lines that feature various types of engines. Whether gas or diesel powered, each GMC truck has its own torque specifications.

Sierra 3500HD

  • The Sierra 3500HD includes a Vortec 6.0-liter V8 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The V8 engine produces 360 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. The optional Duramax 6.6-liter diesel powered engine has 397 horsepower and 765 lb.-ft. of torque.

Sierra Denali HD

  • The GMC Sierra Denali HD comes with a 6.2-liter V8 engine and a six-speed automatic electronic automatic transmission. The engine outputs 403 horsepower and 417 lb.-ft. or torque.

Sierra 1500

  • The GMC Sierra 1500 regular cab truck features a Vortec 4.3-liter V6 engine that outputs 195 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The work truck has an option of a Vortec 4.8-liter V8 engine that offer 302 horsepower and 305 lb.-ft. of torque and a 5.3-liter V8 engine that produces 315 horsepower and 335 lb.-ft. of torque.

Sierra Hybrid

  • The Sierra Hybrid features a 6.0-liter V8 engine and an electronic automatic transmission. The engine generates 332 horsepower and 367 lb.-ft. of torque.

Canyon

  • The GMC Canyon work truck comes with a 2.9-liter four-cylinder SFI and a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission. The engine outputs 185 horsepower and 190 lb.-ft. Ford offer the option of a 3.7-liter five-cylinder SFI engine that produces 242 horsepower and 242 lb.-ft.
