How to Lease an Acura MDX

Acura's MDX is a luxury, seven-passenger sport utility vehicle, or SUV. Leasing for the MDX is offered through Acura Financial Services, and while some manufacturer's offer lease approvals online, Acura requires you to apply at an authorized dealership. Leasing terms and offers often change monthly, so if you have just begun to shop for a vehicle, you should go to a dealership before the end of the month or during the lease advertisement period to take advantage of any offers.

  • Go to acura.com to view the current MDX leasing offers before going to a dealership. Click on "MDX" from the vehicle lineup and "Current Offers" to see any leasing specials. Click on "Full Description and Terms" to find how much you have to put down to reach the advertised payment, how long the offer is good for, and to review the mileage and term requirements.

  • Go to an Acura dealership. If you do not know where to find one, input your ZIP code in the "Locate a dealer" search option on acura.com. Ask to speak to a salesperson once you arrive.

  • Tell your salesperson that you want to lease an MDX. Ask to test drive the SUV in a color that you would want it, or look at ones on the lot until you find one you want to lease. Have the salesperson explain all of the MDX's features before you drive it.

  • Fill out a credit application for Acura Financial Services if the MDX's drive was satisfactory. Your salesperson will guide you through the credit application. Acura Financial Services accepts applications from Acura dealers electronically, meaning you should have your approval within minutes.

  • Go over the terms of the lease with your salesperson. You request mileage, term or money-down changes, all of which affect the monthly payment. Once you are comfortable and understand the terms of your lease, make arrangements to pick up your new MDX.

  • Call your insurance company with your salesperson. You can check policy changes and give authorization to your salesperson to provide the vehicle and lien-holder information. You insurance company will have a proof-of-insurance document faxed to the dealership; a copy will be provided to you before you leave with your new MDX.

  • Sign the Acura Financial Services leasing contract; a dealership representative will guide you and explain where to sign. Sign your motor vehicle paperwork (dealers are authorized to complete state motor vehicle paperwork on your behalf). Your salesperson will put your license plates on the MDX, but go over it completely to ensure no scratches or dings exist before leaving the dealership.
