Installation Instructions for the K-9 150 Car Alarm

The K-9 150 car alarm, designed to help enhance vehicle security, comes equipped with many programmable features. Installation of this product is similar to that of other K-9 alarms. With a few tools and the proper instructions, you can help make any vehicle safer and secure with this car alarm.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • Machine-threaded fastener
  • Remove the glove box, and mount the main control module behind the dash. Attach it with the provided screws using a screwdriver. Open the hood of the car, and find a place to install the siren away from the extreme heat of the engine and manifold. Place the siren in an area that has a firm mounting surface and will not be accessible to a thief. Point it downward to prevent moisture from collecting inside it and to enhance sound dispersal.

  • Connect the wires of the security system to those of the vehicle with the proper terminals or connectors. Attach the yellow wire at the ignition switch harness to the primary ignition circuit. Find the correct wire at the harness switch, and splice the yellow wire to it.

  • Crimp the black wire onto the metal frame of the vehicle with a machine-threaded fastener. Connect the red wire at the ignition switch.

  • Connect the brown wire directly the the vehicle's horn switch wire, and attach the white wires to each parking light circuit. Attach the green wires to any wires in the vehicle that are common to all the door pin switches; repeat the same process for the violet wire.

  • Attach the blue wire to a light in the the trunk or luggage compartment. Inspect all wires to ensure you connected them properly. Plug in the power door lock interface port. Reattach the glove box, and test the alarm to ensure that it works properly.
