How to Fix a Jeep Liberty Rear Window

Normal damages that vehicles incur over time, such as paint scratches and minor dents, are to be expected. You may not expect it, though, when your Jeep Liberty's rear window has a large crack running from one side of the window to the other. If you see type of damage on your Jeep, gather the materials needed for the repair and get to work.

Things You'll Need

  • Dish washing soap
  • Bucket
  • Sponge
  • Cloths
  • Razor blade
  • Goggles
  • Suction cup stabilizer
  • Resin injector cartridge
  • Resin tube
  • Adhesive curing film
  • Wash the surface of the window entirely. Mix dish soap and water in a bucket then use a sponge to wash the window. Wipe it dry with a cloth.

  • Remove any loose glass. Put on a pair of goggles then carefully pick out the glass shards from within the cracks with a razor blade.

  • Attach a suction cup stabilizer to the window so that a strong vacuum is created between both elements.

  • Place a resin injector cartridge into its open port inside the stabilizer then insert the resin tube into the injector.

  • Pull the injector out to begin the repair process. Resin will automatically begin to leave the resin tube and fill in the cracks.

  • Remove the stabilizer from the window once the repair has been made and the resin tube is empty.

  • Cut a few strips of curing film and place them over the repair. Do not remove the strips until the resin has fully cured and hardened.
