Where Is the Hazard Warning Switch in a 2003 BMW 325i?

The hazard warning switch on the BMW 325i is easy to find, as long as you know where to look. The switch is not on the dashboard. Instead, the designers at Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, placed it just behind the gear shift.

Take a Seat

  • Sit in the driver's seat. Look down and to the right, at the cup holder nearest the dash. Between the front edge of the cup holder and the gear selector, you'll see two buttons just to the right of the centerline of the car.

Reach Down

  • Inspect both the buttons. Note the button that is marked with a yellow triangle at its center. In the center of the triangle, you'll note a punctuation mark, an exclamation point. This symbol is the the international graphic for "general hazard." This is the hazard warning switch. Push it down to activate the flashers. Press it again; it will rise and the hazard warning lights will go out.
