Vehicles with daytime running lights either have their own separate daytime running light assembly or simply use their high beam headlights at a reduced setting during the day. In either case, repairing your daytime running lamps follows a simple procedure -- either replace the bulb or replace the fuse. The fuses for most vehicles are located in the fuse block in the engine compartment or the fuse block in the passenger compartment. It should only take a few minutes to repair the daytime running lights.
Open the hood of your vehicle and disconnect the battery's negative-terminal cable with a socket wrench.
Remove the cover from the fuse block and locate the high-beam headlamp fuse. Most vehicles have two, one for the right headlamp and one for the left headlamp. For the exact location of the fuse, check through your vehicle's user's guide.
Use a fuse puller tool to remove the high-beam headlamp fuse and install a replacement fuse in its place. Reattach the cover to the fuse block.
Reach behind the high-beam headlamp and disconnect its electrical connector by pulling it straight out. Rotate the old bulb counterclockwise and pull it out to remove it.
Install a replacement bulb and reattach the electrical connector to the headlamp. Consult your vehicle's user's guide for the exact type of bulb to use. Close the hood when done.

Reach behind the DRL assembly and disconnect its electrical connector by pulling it straight out. Rotate the old bulb counterclockwise and pull it out to remove it. Some vehicles require you to remove a few screws to access the DRL assembly. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws.
Install a replacement bulb and reattach the electrical connector to the DRL assembly. Consult your vehicle's user guide for the exact type of bulb to use. Close the hood when done.
