Honda Seatbelt Installation

The seat belts in your Honda are the most important safety feature in the car and should be kept in the best possible condition. If you notice any wear or tear on any of your seat belts you need to remove it and replace it with a new one before you next take your vehicle out on the road. You can purchase replacement seat belts for the correct model of your Honda from your local auto store.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips-head screwdriver
  • Wrench set
  • Enter your Honda and check the condition of all your seat belts to find out which seat belts need to be replaced.

  • Follow the shoulder harness of the damaged seat belt with your hands until you come to its plastic housing at the top of the seat. Use a phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws which hold the plastic casing in place. Lift the plastic casing off to expose the two mounting bolts underneath.

  • Use a wrench to remove the mounting bolts underneath the casing. Follow the shoulder harness back down with your hand until you locate the second mounting bolts which fix it in place. Remove the bolts and lift the shoulder harness from the seat.

  • Locate the mounting bolts attached to the anchor side of the belt. You will find the bolts on the opposite side to which the seat belt lock is located. Use a wrench to remove the mounting bolts and lift the belt from the seat.

  • Attach the new anchor sided belt by reattaching the previously removed mounting bolts. Ensure you install the anchor side belt the correct way round so that the buckle can reach the lock. Place the shoulder harness back in position and reattach by securing both sets of mounting bolts back in place. Repeat the process on any other damaged seat belts.
