How to Remove a 2002 Buick LeSabre Dash Pad

The dash pad of your Buick LeSabre is another term for the factory-installed dash panel. If the dash pad is cracked or has been damaged, it will need to be replaced. However, you need to remove the existing dash pad from the vehicle. This will require you to determine how the dash pad is attached to the frame of the vehicle. You can then begin the process of removing the pad.

Things You'll Need

  • Flat-head screwdriver
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Pry the trim covers off of the dash that are along the edges of the doors and under the steering wheel, using a flat-head screwdriver. Take the trim covers off and set them aside.

  • Find the five to eight screws that are used to secure the steering wheel trim to the dash. Remove these screws with the Phillips screwdriver. Pull the trim piece down to separate it from the dash.

  • Pry along the edge of the dash with the flat-head screwdriver. This will disconnect all of the mounting tabs that hold the dash in place.

  • Remove the four screws on the bottom of the dash, using the Phillips screwdriver. Set the screws aside.

  • Pull the dash pad up and out to separate it from the frame. Open the passenger side door and slide the dash pad out of the LeSabre.
