How to Install a Tahoe Front Bumper

It's not easy to damage the front bumper on a Chevrolet Tahoe and it can take a lot of force before becoming dented or bent. Once the bumper is damaged, you should remove it and replace it with a new Tahoe bumper. The Tahoe bumper, no matter what year it is, is straightforward to install. With the help of a friend and just a few basic tools, you can install the front bumper in less than 30 minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Ratchet
  • Socket set
  • Place the front bumper on the ground in front of the Tahoe. There are two metal braces coming from the back of the bumper, pointing towards the Tahoe. Line these up with the frame rails underneath the Tahoe. Make sure you have all of the bolts and nuts ready to install and within reach.

  • Have a friend lift the front bumper and hold it in place, with the metal braces next to the frame rails and with the bolt holes lined up correctly. Put the bolts through the holes and tighten them all just enough to hold the bumper in place so that your friend can let go.

  • Tighten the bolts and the nuts and make sure they are all tight by using the ratchet and a 14 mm socket.
