How to Remove the Center Bezel From a PT Cruiser

A PT Cruiser's center bezel fits around a variety of components such as the radio and the air conditioning, power window switches, and the heating and air conditioning controls. There are two reasons to remove this bezel. If you are planning on customizing the interior of the Cruiser, the bezel's appearance can be altered and then replaced. Also, there are components behind the bezel, and in order to conduct other types of repairs, the bezel has to be temporarily removed.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • Ensure that the Cruiser's electrical system is off.

  • Pull off all the heating and conditioning knobs.

  • Pry out the front power window switch assembly and disconnect the electrical components. Remove the switch all together.

  • Unscrew the retaining screw at the top of the bezel.

  • Pry around the edges of the bezel to detach it from the dashboard. You will have to use a few prying points to get the bezel fully detached and off the dashboard.
