Things You'll Need

  • 10-mm socket
  • Ratchet wrench
  • Flat blade screwdriver
  • Open the hood to access the grille mounting bolts.

  • Locate the bolts that attach the grille frame to the underside of the hood. Remove the bolts (two per side) with a 10-mm socket and ratchet wrench in a counterclockwise direction. Place the bolts aside for reuse.

  • Locate the retaining nuts along the top edge of the inside of the grille. Remove the nuts with the 10-mm socket and ratchet and place them aside.

  • Remove the grille assembly from the hood.

  • Remove the tape from the inside of the grille frame to reveal the grille insert mounting clips. Pry the clips, 14 in all, up with a flat blade screwdriver. Place the clips aside. Lift the grille insert from the grille frame. Skip this step if you will be changing the entire grille assembly and not just the insert.

  • Place a new grill insert in the grille frame. Push the 14 clips back into position until they snap into place. Press the tape back down over the clips. Skip this step if you will be changing the entire grille assembly and not just the insert.

  • Hold the grill assembly into position on the underside of the hood, lining up the mounting holes. Replace the six retaining nuts at the front edge of the grill and tighten them with the 10-mm socket and ratchet.

  • Replace the four bolts that attach the grille framework to the underside of the hood and tighten them with the 10-mm socket and ratchet. Close the hood.
