If the headlights on your Land Rover are burnt out or broken, you may need to replace them. Fortunately, the design of the front end of the Land Rover makes changing the headlights a simple and straightforward process: the central grille comes out quickly so that the headlight assembly can come out too, giving you easy access to the headlights inside. No specialty tools are needed. Expect to spend about half an hour changing your Land Rover headlights.
Turn off your Land Rover and prop open the hood.
Remove the three screws on top of the grille and pull out the grille.
Remove the two screws on the side of the headlight assembly that were revealed when you removed the grille and pull the headlight assembly toward the front bumper slightly to gain more access to the engine compartment side.
Remove the wiring harness from the rear of the headlight assembly.
Pull off the plastic retainer cover from the rear of the headlight assembly.
Disengage the metal retaining clip that holds the current headlight in place. Take the headlight out of the socket.
Put on latex gloves to prevent the oils from your fingers damaging the glass of the replacement headlight. Insert the replacement headlight into the socket, secure it with the metal retaining clip, cover the headlight rear with the retaining cover, plug back in the wiring harness and remount the grille with all of the screws you removed earlier.
