How to Reset the Radio Code on a Honda Accord

The radio code on a Honda Accord prevents unauthorized use of the radio by locking the radio any time battery power is cut to the system. Once power is restored, you'll need to enter your radio code on the numeric keypad in order to use the radio again. This auto-lock out feature helps to prevent unauthorized use of your radio by thieves. However, if you can't remember your radio code, or you lost your Accord's owner's manual, you'll need to know how to reset the radio code.

  • Write down the VIN number of your vehicle. The VIN number is located on the driver side of the vehicle just behind the windshield at the base of the windshield on the dash of your Accord.

  • Write down the serial number of your radio.

  • Contact Honda. You can contact Honda to reset your radio using the company's automated service on its radio reset website (see Resources).
