Subaru offers the Outback in the mid 1990s as a response to American drivers' desire for the elevated seating and ruggedness of the trendy SUV coupled with better fuel economy. Making the most of the most desirable SUV features, Outback came with special details inside and out, as well as a raised suspension for a better ride. Take out the steering wheel, taking care not to turn it. Remove both the steering column covers in order to access the combination switch.
Loosen the two screws on the combination switch, then remove them. Take out the combination switch.
Check the new switch to make sure it is in the OFF position. Set the combination switch in place and secure it with the two retraining screws.
Replace the steering column covers and secure them. Reinstall the steering wheel.
Attach both battery cables to the terminals. Reactivate the Safety Restraint System.
Start the engine. Check for proper operation of the turn signals and the hazard flashers.
