Aside from the introduction of the Super Crew, the 2001 Ford F-150 saw few changes over the previous model year. The Work Truck option group replaced the old Work Series model, and four-wheel ABS was now standard on all trim levels. The antenna mast on your F-150 is a separate component from the base, and a quick changeover is all that's needed to replace it.
Cover the fender area immediately surrounding the antenna mast with clean shop rags or a towel.
Loosen the antenna mast nut at the base of the mast, using a six-point box end wrench. Lift the old antenna mast off the base.
Plug the new antenna into the base. Tighten the nut securely. Remove the fender protection.
