A Toyota Camry has four to eight speakers, depending on the car's model year. All models have one speaker in each door and two in the rear deck. Newer models have two in the dashboard. All of the speakers are wired to the stereo, but the connection that powers the speakers is in the rear of the car. You will need some basic tools and about one hour for a Toyota Camry speaker removal.
Disconnect the "positive" battery connection by loosening the screw securing the clamp to the connector. Pull the cable off the connector.
Open the Camry's trunk and remove the screws from the sides of the speakers that are mounted to the roof of the trunk.
Pull the trunk speakers off the trunk's roof and cut the wire closest to the metal wire connector, using the wire cutters. Repeat with the other trunk speaker. Once the wires are cut, pull the wires away from each other and don't let them touch.
Open one of the rear doors and remove the screws that are securing the plastic door panel to the door frame. The screws will be around the edge of the panel where the door frame meets the panel. Pull the panel off of the door frame enough to expose the door speaker.
Remove the screws that are securing the speaker to the door frame and cut the wires as you did for the trunk speaker. Pull the speaker off of the door frame and set it aside. Repeat until the speakers have been removed from all the doors.
Place the screwdriver between the speaker cover and the dashboard, if you have a newer-model Camry. Gently pry the speaker cover off of the speaker. Move the screwdriver around the edge of the speaker slowly as you pry and make sure that you don't damage the cover. Pull the cover off of the speaker, remove the securing screws and cut the wires.
