How to Upgrade Speakers in a Honda Odyssey

The Honda Odyssey is factory-equipped with speakers in the front doors and in the rear passenger area along the wall behind the door. For owners who want to upgrade the speakers in their Honda Odyssey, there's some good news—only a few basic tools and a little bit of time is needed to replace the existing speakers in the vehicle with higher-performance aftermarket speaker models.

Things You'll Need

  • Flat-head screwdriver
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Insert the tip of a flat-head screwdriver into the small notch at the back edge of the speaker grille in the driver's door. Pry outwards to pop the grille off of the door.

  • Remove the three Phillips screws holding the speaker in place. Pull the speaker out of the cavity in the door. Reach to the back side of the speaker and unplug the wiring connector for the speaker wires.

  • Plug the new speaker into the wiring connector. Place the speaker into the door cavity and screw it in place with the screws you removed.

  • Place the grille back on and push it firmly into place.

  • Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the three remaining speakers. The grilles for the rear speakers are located just to the rear of the rear-side doors.
