How to Hook Up An iPod to an Auxiliary Jack in a Dodge Caravan

Car stereos continue to get more and more advanced. What was satisfactory 5 years ago is now last week's technology. An auxiliary jack added to the stereo of the Dodge Caravan enables you to play an accessory through the jack. People sometimes plug an iPod into the auxiliary jack and then listen to their iPod's music through the stock stereo. This task is straightforward to perform and takes less than five minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Three-foot-long 1/8-inch mini plug to 1/8-inch mini plug cable
  • iPod
  • Locate the auxiliary input on the stock stereo, which is on the lower right corner of the stereo. Plug in one end of the 1/8-inch mini plug cable into the auxiliary input, pushing it in until it firmly clicks in place.

  • Turn the volume down using the knob on the stock stereo. Plug the other end of the cable into the headphone jack on the iPod.

  • Press the play button on the iPod. Press the AUX button on the Caravan's stereo. Adjust the volume on the iPod to its highest level. Then adjust the volume on the car stereo to your desired listening volume.
