How to Remove a Car Stereo from a Ford Fiesta

The factory stereo in your Ford Fiesta may be adequate for listening to the radio. However, you may want to take advantage of additional features that come with new car stereos. Every year, aftermarket stereo manufacturers make stereos that incorporate the latest technologies. The factory stereo in your Fiesta, for example, can be upgrades to a unit with MP3 player capability or a fully integrated navigation system. To do this, first you'll need to know how to remove a car stereo from your Ford Fiesta.

Things You'll Need

  • Ford DIN tools (available at most auto parts stores)
  • Insert the ends of the DIN release tools into the slots on either end of the stereo. There are two sets of two slots on either side of the stereo. The DIN tools are horseshoe-shaped tools. The ends or tips of the DIN tool are inserted into these holes.

  • Apply pressure outward on each tool and pull the stereo out toward you.

  • Remove the ISO plug from the back of the stereo and unplug the antenna.
