How to Install a Weapon-R Air Intake

Weapon-R air intakes are made to replace factory air intake systems. Being shorter than a cold air intake and having a small, tapered end to fit into almost any throttle body, the Weapon-R air intake provides a quick and easy way to add horsepower to your car. The air intake supplies the engine with cooler air than the factory intake, which allows the engine to run at a cooler temperature, resulting in better horsepower, torque and gas mileage.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • Wrench
  • Ratchet
  • Small socket set
  • Open the hood and remove the factory air intake. Remove the bolts from around the stock air box with a ratchet and socket. Pull the intake filter out of the air box. Remove the clamp connecting the factory intake to the throttle body with a screwdriver.

  • Unplug the oxygen sensor from the intake hose and let it hang loose until the new intake is installed. Remove the factory intake hose and air box.

  • Place the Weapon-R air intake next to the throttle body. Place a clamp over the end of the intake. Insert the tapered end of the intake into the throttle body on the vehicle. Slide the clamp to fit where the intake and throttle body meet. Tighten the clamp with a screwdriver.

  • Plug the oxygen sensor into the port on the Weapon-R intake. Tighten the hose clamp connecting the filter to the end of the Weapon-R intake. The installation is complete.
