Buick vehicles since the early 1990s have been equipped with antitheft systems. These systems allow you to wirelessly control your door locks, trunk release, panic alarms and even your car starter. If your system is not working, you can reset it from your car's system module in just minutes. This process can be done with just your key and a set of jumper wires.
Insert your key into the car's ignition slot, and leave the key in the "Off" position.
Remove the dashboard panels underneath your driver's side steering column, and expose the data port module underneath.
Connect terminals number four and number eight in the data port module using your jumper wires, and close the door behind you.
Turn your ignition key to the "On" position, wait for the door locks to click automatically and press and hold both the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons on your remote.
Hold the buttons for up to 15 seconds until the locks automatically click again, and then remove the jumper wire to finish the process.
