You could be driving down the road with an angel or a "Star Wars" character as a hood ornament. You can make your own hood ornament for the price of a figurine, a couple magnets and a small bolt with a couple of washers. Also, it takes very little time to make. Just remember to take it off when you leave your car, or someone else will be making everybody's day.
Find a figurine of your choosing. You can use the top of a trophy or a child's toy. Pick something that you will like but nothing too big. For the magnet to hold it in place, it should be no more than 5 inches tall. Also, the taller it is, the lighter it should be.
Place a washer onto one of the magnets so that it covers the hole of the magnet, and the hole of the washer is directly in the middle. Place the other washer on the other magnet so that the bolt can go through both holes at the same time and stick straight up.
Place the bolt through the two washers to make sure that they are aligned properly. Apply a small coating of super glue on the side and around the circumference of both washers. Make sure that the glue touches both the washer and the magnet. Let the glue dry for a couple of minutes.
Drill a hole in the bottom of the figurine with the drill and 5/16-inch bit. Place the figurine on the bolt while it is on the magnet to make sure it will touch the magnet. Remove the figurine from the magnet.
Apply super glue to the bolt and into the hole on the figurine. Put the figurine back on the bolt until it touches the magnet. Holt the figurine in place until the glue dries.
Place the other magnet on the bottom of the figurine magnet. This will let the magnet rest on the hood without the bolt getting in the way. Place the new hood ornament on the front center of the vehicle.
