Painting a marble design on your car is an interesting and challenging project. You will need the supplies that are normally needed for painting a car plus the keen eye of an artist. There are several different methods and techniques which may vary depending on what look you want. Make sure you know how you want the marble to look like as there are different kinds of marble.
Wash your car thoroughly with soap and water then wash it with a grease and wax remover. Ground your car by attaching a wire from the chassis of the car to anything nearby the car that is grounded to prevent dust from being attracted back to the car.
Sand down all areas you want to paint marble with sand paper until you reach metal. Cover all the areas you do not want painted with a tarp or with paper and tape it down with masking tape.
Apply primer to the areas you want painted. Sand out the primer to smooth it out-- be very careful not to sand down to the metal layer.
Fill a spray gun full of a dark hued urethane-based car paint, chosen to be the darkest of all the colors of the marble design. Spray thick loosely connected swatches of the dark paint over the designated area. Allow it to dry for up to fifteen minutes.
Fill the spray gun with a medium-hue chosen to be in the marble design. Spray the lighter hue, connecting the loosely sprayed, thick swatches. Allow up to fifteen minutes for the paint to dry.
Fill the spray gun with white or creme based car paint and add white veins throughout the marble; making a spider-web like design.
Apply a clear coat. Allow it to dry for about fifteen minutes. Apply two more coats. Let the car dry for ninety-minutes.
