Angel eye headlights, or halo projector headlights, are a very popular aftermarket choice for Civic lighting. They look completely different than the original factory headlights, are much brighter and make your car stand out in the dark and in the daylight. Angel eye headlights do not directly replace factory headlights.
Open the hood to your Civic and disconnect the negative (black) battery connector. Remove the front bumper cover by unscrewing the screws along the top of the bumper cover and then pulling the cover out. There will be a few clips that pop out when you tug on the bumper cover.
Use the ratchet and sockets to remove the old headlights. There are two bolts on top of the headlights, one underneath in the center and two in front that you can only get to by removing the bumper cover. Unclip the wiring connectors from the back of the headlights and remove them from the Civic.
Place the angel eye headlight in the same place that the original headlights was located. The same bolts fit into the angel eye headlights that came out of the original headlights. Tighten the bolts on the angel eye headlights.
Connect the wiring harness on the new angel eye headlights to the battery by removing the positive (red) battery connector, placing the end of the wiring harness on the battery post and then clamping the positive battery connector back in place and over the new wire. Connect the wiring harness from the battery to the passenger side headlight, and then to the driver's side headlight.
Bring the wiring for the projector bulbs to meet the wiring of the factory installed parking lights. Splice them together to that the projectors come on when you switch the parking lights on. To splice, use wire strippers to remove the plastic coating from the end of the wires and then wrap them together and connect them to the back of the lights. Use the clamps on the back of the lights to keep them in place. Only strip off an inch or so of the plastic coating.
Replace the bumper cover and the negative battery connector. Turn on the lights to make sure they work and all wiring is connected.
