How to Fix White Spots on Aluminum Rims

Flashy wheel rims have become very popular over the last decade. Two popular materials for rims are aluminum and steel. Dirty water spots are frequent markings on aluminum rims, and typical household cleaners do not work, especially if the spots have been there for awhile. • Paper towels
  • Dab some cleaner onto a dry sponge.

  • Scrub the white spots on your rims. If using a spray version citrus cleaner, spray directly onto the spots and scrub with a dry sponge.

  • Rinse the sponge with clean water until all citrus cleaner is out of the sponge.

  • Quickly wash the rims with hot soapy water.

  • Let the rims dry.

  • Spray with Windex and clean off with paper towels as you would when cleaning windows or a mirror.
