How to wash your car without water

Many areas in the United States are under heavy water restrictions, which is why it is helpful to know how to wash your car without water.

Things You'll Need

  • Soft cloth
  • Baby wipes
  • Vacuum
  • Spray-on car cleaner
  • Grab a soft cloth if you just need to spot-clean parts of the body of your car. Use the cloth to dust away dirt and polish chrome or metal for a clean-looking finish.

  • Use a baby wipe if you need a little waterless help. The wipe can be used to scrub off dirt or baked-on bugs.

  • Use a car-wash spray if you really need a good cleaning without water. Meguiar's makes a detailer spray that is great for cleaning off your whole car as long as you are willing to put a little elbow grease into it.

  • Remember the inside of your car. If you don't have the time to really clean the outside, vacuum the interior, which can make it feel bigger and completely clean.

  • Take your car to a car wash if it really needs to be washed with water. Even during strict water restrictions, car washes are open, although they are probably a little more pricey. You will get the freshly washed look you want, and you don't have to do it yourself.
